Location: Members of FAC are located near the town of San Vito, in an area at an altitude of approximately 800-1000 m in the central Cordillera mountains of Costa Rica. Approximately 270 km from San Jose and 40 km from Panama, San Vito is a small hillside market town with small farms and residences of a few hectares predominating in the surrounding area. The principal crops in the region are coffee, corn and beans. Trips can be arranged from here to the La Amistad Biosphere, Costa Rica's largest natural wilderness.
